The Former Skills Minister was appointed Secretary of State for Education on 25 October 2022. Previously Gillian Keegan was assigned the role of Skills Minister in February 2020 and prior to that she held the Apprenticeship and Skills brief in the Department of Health for a year until the former PM, Liz Truss appointed her to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in September this year.
