Applications can be made directly to CTSN SCITT and also via our lead partners, Saffron Teaching School Hub [Secondary and primary] and Essex Primary SCITT [primary only] and Comberton Village College [secondary only].
Whether you apply directly to us and/or one of our partners, it is the same CTSN SCITT training course; the only difference is likely to be your main placement school, as we would try to place a trainee within our partners’ Trust through which they applied; (although this is not always possible).
One choice or two?
When you apply through DfE Apply, you have four choices of ITT course.
You can apply to CTSN SCITT directly and Saffron Teaching School Hub [Secondary and primary] and Essex Primary SCITT [primary only] and Comberton Village College [secondary only].
In some respects this might seem like applying for the same course twice, but it does maximise chances of a successful application. For example, if three candidates all apply only through Saffron Teaching School Hub, but Saffron has only one place available on a particular course, then only one offer can be made. If the same three applicants apply through Saffron Teaching School Hub and directly to CTSN SCITT, then there is a much greater chance of finding a place for all three applicants.
Of course, it might be that you would prefer to apply to CTSN SCITT alongside other ITT providers. You are able to do this through DfE Apply; if you apply directly to us, this would leave two other options open to you.
